Some other unannounced Square Enix titles in the list are Kingdom Hearts IV, Chrono Cross Remaster and Tactics Ogre Remaster. And Dragon Quest X Online/Offline which has never released outside of Japan.

NVIDIA has released a statement:

NVIDIA is aware of an unauthorized published game list, with both released and/or speculative titles, used only for internal tracking and testing. Inclusion on the list is neither confirmation nor an announcement of any game.

NVIDIA took immediate action to remove access to the list. No confidential game builds or personal information were exposed.

Is this list legit? I hope so.

The full list can be watched here (with thanks to SteamDB’s Pavel Djundik).

Cyber Group Studios, a developer, producer and distributor of animated television series and movies for children located in Paris, has signed a co-development and co-production deal with Square Enix to adapt Final Fantasy IX to an animated series for eight- to 13 years old. This according to a Kidscreen report. Cyber Group will also handle worldwide distribution, licensing and merchandise.

Pierre Sissmann, CEO of Cyber Group Studios, said that the company is putting the finishing touches on a project bible, and plans to begin pitching it to broadcasters in the coming months. The goal is to begin production by the end of 2021 or beginning of 2022.

Cyber Group Studios has partnered with Square Enix before. In 2009 Eidos Interactive (now part of Square Enix) released Mini Ninjas, an action-adventure game. In 2015 the animated series was aired on several networks that was produced by Cyber Group Studios.

Final Fantasy IX was originally released on the PlayStation in 2000 and goes back to the medieval style seen in earlier games in the Final Fantasy series. Now it can also be played on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, Android and iOS devices.

Final Fantasy IX

On this day 20 years ago, on 7 July 2000, Final Fantasy IX was released on the original PlayStation in Japan. The game returned to the roots of the Final Fantasy series with it's medieval fantasy setting (unlike Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII) and references to past Final Fantasy games.

Square Enix celebrates this with an interview with creators involved in the original development of the game: Kazuhiko Aoki (Event Design), Toshiyuki Itahana (Character Design) and Hiroyuki Ito (Director). They have split the interview into three parts and part 1 is an interview with Kazuhiko Aoki. You can read it on the official website.

In 2019 Square Enix released the Inside Final Fantasy series on YouTube . In these series a dive-in into the making of several Final Fantasy games will be shown together with interviews with the developers of the game. If you haven't watched the one about Final Fantasy IX, you can see it below.

Final Fantasy VII

On Friday Square Enix has announced on Twitter that they have released patch 1.01 for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One version of Final Fantasy VII which fixes a very old audio bug.

The audio bug caused the background music to restart after each battle. This bug was introduced in the iOS version that was developed by D4 Enterprise and released on 19 August 2015. The PlayStation 4 version, that was developed by DotEmu and released on 5 December 2015, also contained this bug. Both versions have never been patched, which makes this decision strange. Square Enix should patch these versions too to reduce the differences between versions.

All ports of Final Fantasy IX also containes the same bug.

Another bug that was patched is the black screen before and after a FMV cutscene.

Final Fantasy VII can be played on PlayStation, PC, iOS devices, Android devices, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XII will be released on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2019. It is the first time these Final Fantasy titles will be available on Microsoft and Nintendo consoles.

Final Fantasy VII was released back in 1997 on the original PlayStation and was the first title not to be released on a Nintendo console. In 2015 the PlayStation 4 version was released which is a port from the PC version. Most likely the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch version will be based on that version.

Final Fantasy IX was released back in 2000, the last Final Fantasy on the original PlayStation. In 2017 the PlayStation 4 version was released which is a port from the PC version released in 2016. Most likely the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch version will be based on that version.

Final Fantasy X was released back in 2001 on the PlayStation 2 with its sequel Final Fantasy X-2 in 2003. Both games got a HD remaster (Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster) in 2013 on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. In 2015 a PlayStation 4 version was released and in 2016 the PC version.

Final Fantasy XII was released back in 2006, the last Final Fantasy on the PlayStation 2. In 2017 the game got a HD remaster called Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age on PlayStation 4. In February 2018 the PC version was released.

It's been 20 years since the launch of the original PlayStation, which was released in Japan on 3 December 1994. Sony has questioned around 10,000 gamers in Japan what their favorite game is in PlayStation history and which game should receive a remake.

What is your favorite PlayStation game?

  1. Dragon Quest V: Tenkuu no Hanayome
  2. Final Fantasy VII
  3. Dragon Quest IV: Michibikareshi Monotachi
  4. Final Fantasy X
  5. Resident Evil
  6. Dragon Quest VIII: Sora to Umi to Daichi to Norowareshi Himegimi
  7. Final Fantasy
  8. Dragon Quest VII: Eden no Senshi-tachi
  9. Puyo Puyo!
  10. Tetris
  11. Final Fantasy IX
  12. Kingdom Hearts
  13. Final Fantasy VIII
  14. World Soccer Winning Eleven 8 LiveWare Evolution
  15. Gran Turismo
  16. Kingdom Hearts II
  17. Derby Stallion
  18. Sangoku Musou
  19. Resident Evil 2
  20. Minna no Golf

Japan is the home of the RPG's, that's for sure. Dragon Quest V is their favorite with Final Fantasy VII closely second. What I do notice is where is Final Fantasy VI? And why Tetris? Strange folk.
