3½ hours of downtime...

Hell and Heaven Net is back online and functioning after 3½ hours of downtime. Apparently someone else on the server has made too many connections to the MySQL Database server that it gave errors and didn't want to work anymore...
My hosting company just fixed it. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

PlayStation Awards for Square Enix

Two days ago Sony Computer Entertainment held the annual PlayStation Awards. The winner of this year's event was once again Square Enix. They received 3 awards for these games:
- Double Platinum Award for Final Fantasy XII (selling over 2 million copies)
- Platinum Award for Kingdom Hearts II (selling over 1 million copies)
- Gold Award for Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (selling over 500,000 copies)

Now let's hope those games will also sell well in the rest of the world.

Square Enix has opened the official website of the North American version of Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. On the website you can find information about the story, the characters and the game features. More things will come soon.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII will be released in North America on August 15th.

Chocobo Raising System postponed

Square Enix has postponed the Chocobo Raising from today's version update of Final Fantasy XI. The system has now been sheduled to be in the update of August 22nd.

Also the continuation of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan storyline has been postponed and is now sheduled to be in the update of August 2nd.

New Link Database

I've setup a new link database. At the link database links are listed to official websites and fansites. If you have a fansite and you want it to be added, fill out the form there and link back to Hell and Heaven Net. The form will be send to my email, so I have to manually add the link.

Contact Form problem fixed

There was a problem with the contact form on the website. Last month I never received the messages send via the form. This was because my host changed something to the requirements of a contact form to reduce spam sent by it.
The problem has just been fixed. If you send a message via the contact form to me in the last month, please resend it.

Final Fantasy XI sequel denied by Square Enix

According to Nikkei.net yesterday a sequel is in the works to the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI. It will be released on PS3, XBox 360 and Windows Vista.

Today Square Enix has denied that rumor of a Final Fantasy XI sequel. They told that the new MMORPG Square Enix is making will be completely different and original. Details and compatible system will be announced soon.

Final Fantasy characters in Mario Hoops

Square Enix has recently updated the Mario Hoops 3-on-3 website with Final Fantasy characters that will be in the game. Next to the standard Nintendo-characters you can soon also play with a Ninja, White Mage, Black Mage, Moogle or Sabotender (Cactuar).

Mario Hoops 3-on-3 will be a basketball game featuring Nintendo and Square Enix characters and will be released on the Nintendo DS.

Today, on my 21st Birthday, I'm going on holiday. I'll be gone for one week and will return next Saterday. The website will not be updated during this time. I'll leave the forums in the hands of the staff untill I return.

HHN's 5th Birthday!!

This month Hell and Heaven Net is celebrating its 5th Birthday!! In July 2001 Hell and Heaven Net started on a free host as a Final Fantasy and Anime fansite. Back then I was a beginner with making websites, the layout was really ugly. Good things (getting domain, vbulletin) and bad things (staff members left) happened in the years. On the History page you can find a total history of 5 years Hell and Heaven Net.
