Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster 5 million copies sold!

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is a collection containing Final Fantasy I-VI 2D remastered. It has been announced in June 2021 during Square Enix Presents Summer Showcase and the first three Final Fantasy games were released in July 2021 on Steam and mobile platforms. Later also the other three games were released and also the games have been released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X/S.

It all began in 1987. Square was almost on the edge of going out of business after releasing several unsuccessful games for the Famicon (NES). Hironobu Sakaguchi developed a game based on Enix's Dragon Quest and named it Final Fantasy, while it might be the last game Square would be developing. The game became a massive success.
