Final Fantasy VIII

Square Enix has announced that they will release a physical edition of Final Fantasy VII / Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Twin Pack for Nintendo Switch and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered on PlayStation 4 in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand on 4 December 2020.

The games can now be pre-ordered at the Square Enix Store. Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Twin Pack is priced at € 39,99 and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered at € 19.99.

Final Fantasy VII has been released digitally on PlayStation 4 in December 2015, followed by Nintendo Switch in March 2019. Final Fantasy VIII Remastered has been released in September 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The Final Fantasy VII / Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Twin Pack for Nintendo Switch was first released in Southeast Asia in 2019 and supports the English and Japanese language.

Square Enix has announced that they will release Final Fantasy VIII Remastered digitally on 3 September for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam.

The remastered version includes the following boosts to enhance the experience:

• Battle Assist: The ability to always have maxed out HP and ATB, and trigger Limit Breaks at any time.
• No Encounters: An enemy encounter option that allows players to enjoy the storyline uninterrupted. While enemy encounters are turned off, players can still enjoy the story event battles.
• 3x Speed Boost: Play through the game with three times the speed.
• The Steam version will also receive additional functions, including All Items (possess all items except for a few certain items), All Abilities, GF Max Level, Max Gil, Max Magic, All Limit Breaks, and All Cards (possess max number of Triple Triad Cards except for Rare Cards).

Final Fantasy VIII was originally released on PlayStation back in 1999 and on PC in 2000. The remastered version will cost  $19.99 / £15.99 / €19.99. When you pre-order the PlayStation 4 version you'll receive a commemorative PlayStation 4 theme, while pre-purchases on Steam will include exclusive wallpapers featuring Squall Leonhart and Rinoa Heartilly.

It's been 20 years since the launch of the original PlayStation, which was released in Japan on 3 December 1994. Sony has questioned around 10,000 gamers in Japan what their favorite game is in PlayStation history and which game should receive a remake.

Japan is the home of the RPG's, that's for sure. Dragon Quest V is their favorite with Final Fantasy VII closely second. What I do notice is where is Final Fantasy VI? And why Tetris? Strange folk.

It's no suprise that Final Fantasy VII is at the top of most wanted remakes. What I notice is why are games like Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II listed? They recently received a HD upgrade on PlayStation 3.

Square Enix has announced that as of today Final Fantasy VIII is available for download on the Square Enix Store and Steam. Like the re-release of Final Fantasy VII, this version has been enhanced for modern PC's and has some new features like cloud saving, a magic booster and 45 Steam achievements. Like the original PC version, which was released back in 2000 by Eidos, Chocobo World is also available.

Final Fantasy VIII is available for $ 11,99 / € 12,99 on the Square Enix Store (NA / EU) and Steam.
