Also in Kingdom Hearts II you travel from world to world to advance in the story. Most of the worlds are known from various Disney movies. There are also some worlds that are originally made for the game.

¤ Original Worlds

Destiny Islands
Sora, Kairi and Riku used to live here but got seperated. This world is not playable in the game, only seen in movies.

Hollow Bastion
Here you meet a lot of Final Fantasy characters who have started the Hallow Bastion Restoration Committee to restore the town.

Twilight Town
The player starts the game here and gets introduced to Roxas. At their little HQ he hangs out with his friends Hayner, Olette and Pence. The town is split into the shopping district and the residential district. There's a train going to the Sunset residential district.

The World That Never Was
The headquarters of Organization XIII which lies close to darkness. The dark city is haunted by many Heartless, while the castle by many Nobodies and has a white look.

¤ Disney Worlds

100 Acre Woods
The Heartless removed some pages from the book again and it seems Pooh has lost his memory. It's up to Sora to help him get his memory back and get to know his friends again.

Agrabah
The home of Alladin where Sora have to Pete from freeing Jafar from the lamp he was trapped in. This with the help of Genie, Alladin's pal.

Atlantica
Ariel is in love with a boy called Eric from the world above water after she saved him from drowning after he gets shipwrecked. Ursula tries to persuade Ariel to be turned into a human. Sora and his friends tries to stop her.

Beast's Castle
One of the new worlds in the game. Beast is acting kinda strange lately and even locked his own servants in the dungeon. Sora, Donald and Goofy have to find out what's wrong with him.

Disney Castle
The home of King Mickey, who is currently on a quest. This makes Queen Minnie in charge of kingdom. She lives together with Daisy Duck, Chip and Dale. The world is under attack of the Heartless and Sora, Donald and Goofy have to save their friends.

Halloween Town
When Jack finds a passageway to another world, Christmas Town, he meets Sandy Claus. Jack wants to help him with preparing Christmas instead of Halloween he is doing every year. When he comes back to Halloween Town the people there want to celebrate Christmas too and they prepare everything. But Oogie Boogie has come back and tries to bring havoc and tries to ruin Christmas. Together with Jack, Sora, Donald and Goofy have to save Christmas.

Land of Dragons
This world is what Ancient China looked like. Mulan wants to join the army to fight against the evil Huns, but its against the law for girls to go to war. So she disguises herself as a young man, Ping. The area is under attack by Shan Yu and his horde of Heartless. It's up to Mulan, Sora, Donald and Goofy to defeat him.

Olympus Coliseum
The home of Hercules, who is every day fighting monsters that Hades summons and becomes exhaused. His girlfriend Megara decides to pay Hades a visit. Along the way she meets Sora, Donald and Goofy. Meanwhile Hades and Pete has teamed up and are planning to unleash Auron to defeat Hercules.

Port Royal
A port city located in the the sea called the mysterious Caribbean. There's a legend that tells of a pirate ship called the Black Pearl with a crew of undead pirates led by Captain Barbossa. Jack Sparrow is after the legendary Chest of Cortez that contains cursed Aztec gold.

Pride Lands
A savanna which is the home of Simba. After the death of his father Mufasa, Scar took the throne. Simba, who was a small cub when Scar killed his father fleed his beloved land. Nala, Simba's childhood friend, asks the help of Sora who has to find Simba and confince him to challenge Scar.

Space Paranoids
A computer world were Sora & Co. meet Tron, a security program. They team up to fight against the evil MCP and its equally villainous commander, Sark.

Timeless River
The area of the cartoon where Mickey Mouse played in for the first time, Steamboat Willie.
